New Years 2010 & Texas Weather

Our New Years was spent at Sam Rayburn relaxing....just the 4 of us. It was so great. Until Doodle blew a hole in the motor of the boat...oh well, life goes on. Since the boat is out of commission, maybe I can get him to get started on cleaning out the barn. He seems to collect alot of, well, let's just call it "stuff". It's a new year, so time to clean up and clean out!!

The girls go back to school tomorrow so life should be back to normal...whatever that is! Ryleigh spent today with her friend going to the movies, lunch and then ice skating. Kristyn and I went to the bank, had lunch and then went to Office Max. I must admit, I sure am going to miss spending the days with my girls! Tomorrow I plan to get busy with one of my new years resolutions to get organized. I am going to start with all of my cabinets. It's a start. After I get everything cleaned up and cleaned out, I will probably make a run to Office Max in order to get some type of filing cabinet. I need something to file all of out important papers and tax returns in. right now they are just filed in a hutch ( if anyone has any suggestions, please fill free to share)...However, I may put that off as long as possible because I am not looking forward to the weather this week here in Texas. It never got out of the 40's today. This is TEXAS for crying out loud. We are not used to this cold weather!! As you can see, I am not a cold weather person. I mean, as I sit here my feet are freezing and I have 2 pairs of socks on, not to mention the thermostat is set on about 74! So needless to say, I do not plan on getting out of the house except to take the girls to school and pick them up (hopefully the school will not call me to sub). Well, I need to get off of here so that I can get my kiddos to bed so they will get up tomorrow. That should be interesting!! Ryleigh is already complaining that she has a headache....

Christmas 2009

Unfortunately I left my camera at home and have absolutely NO pictures of Christmas this year...uuugggghhhh!! We had a great or I should say we had 6 great Christmases this year. Lots of food, fun and fellowship. I must admit that I am glad it is over though. Having to travel to 5-6 different places in a span of just a few days gets overwhelming, but once again we made it through another year. I spent yesterday taking down the tree and cleaning the house. Today I will spend washing clothes, grocery shopping and packing. The 4 of us (me, the hubby and the girls) are ringing in the New Year at the lake...just the 4 of us. I am really looking forward to it. We come home Sunday and the girls go back to school on Tuesday.

I have been thinking alot about 2010 and the "resolutions" that I want to make and plan to keep. My friend Lianna had a lot of good ones on her blog and I thought, "wow, those are really good!" I even decided to do a couple of them myself. Here are mine.

  • start getting into shape and lose about 30 lbs
  • get back into church (maybe even find another one)
  • be more organized (I wish I was a little OCD)
  • be a better blogger and post more pictures!! :)

I hope everyone (the few that come across my little blog) has a very safe and Happy New Year! I wish you all the best for 2010!!!

Thanksgiving

This has got to be my favorite time of the year. I love the sights, sounds and smells of this time of year. I especially love the fact that we get to spend time with family. Tomorrow we are going to my parents house to eat with my grandparents, sister, niece, cousins and aunts and uncles. We usually have way too much food and are miserable because we eat too much. The next day I always go shopping with my mom and my grandmother. We shop all day long...It has kind of become a tradition. This year a friend of mine is going with us and my sister and niece are going too. I have quit taking my girls because they are at that age where they get bored and start wanting to go home, plus there are so many people, it makes me a nervous wreck.

On to something else. Being thankful. I have so much to be thankful for. I have two happy and healthy girls. A wonderful husband, who I cannot imagine my life without. He loves me faults and all. I could not ask for more. I have a great family, both immediate and in-laws. I have a roof over my head and vehicles to drive. I am doing something I love. I am substitute teaching and getting to be home with my girls. I am truely blessed beyond measure. I hope each and everyone one of you who happen to come across my little blog and read this post have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy those who you are blessed to share it with. Don't forget to be THANKFUL!!!

PS. For those of you braving the shoppers on Black Friday, be careful and have a great time!!

Our Girls

Here are some pictures that I took of our girls at the National Forest and a friends house....I am going to give some of these as Christmas presents and use one for a Christmas card. These are just a few of the ones that I took....I am so proud of the way our girls have turned out. They are beautiful on the inside and out and I could not ask for two better girls. Them and their daddy are the absolute loves of my life and I do not know what I would do without them.

Happy Birthday Kristyn!!

Today is my oldest daughters 12th birthday. Twelve years ago I became a mom for the first time and I must say that it is the greatest, most rewarding & fulfilling thing I have ever done. Kristyn and Ryleigh have brought such joy to our lives. Kristyn has grown into a beautiful young lady both inside and out and I am so proud to call her MINE!!

We love you very much and thank God for you everyday!! I hope that all of your hopes and dreams come true and just know that your daddy and I are here for you always!!
